Seven members of the same family died in Bus and Riksha accident.

Seven people died of the same family in an accident that involved between ST bus and Riksha near Bhadthar on the highway of Porbandar to Khambhalia. This happened this morning around 9AM when bus traveling from Bhuj to Porbandar via Khambhalia and on coming Riksha from Bhadthar, it happened near village Keshod when bus gone straight on top of the Riksha which was carrying seven members of the one Vanand family. Four of the passenger in Riksha died instantly on the spot and three others on the way to hospital, this horrifying accident shocked everyone in the area cause all the people who died are come from one family. All the member of the Vanand family who comes from Kenedi village in sub-district of Kalyanpur, this was supposed to be this family's most happiest day as they were coming back from Bhadthar town bringing back Daughter in law of Nanjibhai Gohil who was staying at her parents house for last year and a half cause of marriage problems between husband Chandulal Gohil. Four of the people who died at the scene were Nanjibhai Gohil age 60, Chandubhai Nanji Gohil 45, wife Arunaben Chandulal Gohil 40, son Ronak Chandulal Gohil 6 other two died at the hospital in Khambhalia later were son Rutvik Chandulal 2 and Lalo Chandulal 5 while daughter Sima age 7 died on the way to Jamnagar when doctors decided to take her to Jamnagar hospital as her condition was very serious. Bus 4773 belongs to Bhuj ST depo and driver from Porbandar Brahmin Dinesh Mulshankar said that steering failed to control the turning at corner and went straight over the Riksha that belongs to Ahir Naran Vadva from Bhadthar who survive in the accident with miner injuries.

Unidentified body found in train.

Unidentified body was discovered by Porbandar railway police in a train that arrived late last night from Bhanvad. Man aged around 40 to 42 wearing Khaki coloured clothes was lying dead when train arrived at Porbandar station. Police found a letter by the body was from county court of Gondal and named to Vrajlal Parsotam, police found no injuries to any part of man's body and trying to find out how this man has died. If anyone who knows this name or anyone's relative is missing of this name please contact Porbandar railway police station.

Body found near Aaditiyana.

Police have found the body of a 30 year old man last night around 1 AM near village Aaditiyana, body was discovered by police on the road between Aaditiyana and Boricha near stone mines. Police have identified the body and belongs to Popatbhai Mulubhai Khunti, police said that Popatbhai died due to the road accident in a scooter he was traveling alone another vehicle was not involved in the accident. Police found his scooter and container of alcohol near by his body, postmortem result suggests that Popatbhai died due to injuries in stomach and sever broken ribs. Popatbhai's parents says that someone has murdered his son and not an accident, Popatbhai was from Aaditiyana and used to travel everyday to Boricha where he was running his shop. Police Sub Inspector H.O.Joshi is investigating further in this case.

"Aaj tak" news channel team beaten up at Kuchhdi village.

Aaj tak news channels team were beaten up by crowd of 20 people at village Kuchhadi today, Aaj tak news team were filming for story about unauthorized and illegal digging for rocks so called "Patther Khhan", suddenly crowd of angry people came towards reporter Pranav Kumar Khachher, cameramen Hemansu and one other person and started beating up with punches and kicking at that time one member of the news team made phone call from his mobile to nearest police station Bagvadar and Police sub inspector Jamode arrived and rescued the TV news team.

Porbandar City council warns people to pay up house tax in 10 days.

Porbandar City council have warned cities 60% of the people who still haven't paid their house tax, they said that tax to be paid within the 10 days or authority will come door to door collection. Spokesperson of the council said that people are quick to complain when they don't get water supply, road repairs done or other problems, city council only have income from house tax and if people don't pay in time or don't pay up at all then the require work for the city can not be done. If the payment is not received after 10 days deadline court notices will go out.

Man stabbed to death by son in law.

Fourty seven year old man stabbed to death by his own son in law. Kiritbhai Lakhubhai Sisodiya died outside his house where he lived on Chhaya choki road, two man arrived in a ambassador car and one on scooter around 11AM and called Kiritbhai Sisodiya to come out side for talk about marriage problem between Kiritbhai's daughter and his son in law as the talk turned in to argument two man grabbed hold Kiritbhai while third man son in law Lakha Khima stabbed him several times till he died on the spot. Kiritbhai's daughter Roshni who got married to Lakha Khima only just 9 months ago but marriage wasn't working well between the couple so Roshni wanted divorce but Roshni's husband didn't. All three man ran away in another vehicle while leaving their car and scooter behind at the crime scene. Police inspector Patel is investigating the matter and looking for three man Lakha Khima, his elder brother Malde Khima and Kesh Vadher.

Maher "dandiya-raas" in Delhi.

Porbandar district's well known and traditionally popular dandiya raas from a Maher community will be performed in Delhi on India's Republic day. Group of 300 people including 150 young childrens from Porbandar district led by MR. Ranabhai Sida will perform dandiya raas at Delhi's Lal killa(Red Fort) parade on 26 January. Childrens and adults are from all part of the Porbandar district from Maher community will perform different dandiya raas, people in india and in some other countries will be able to see this performance on live telecast.

Water cut for Porbandar city.

It has been announced by the city council of Porbandar that water supply to the city that comes from the fodara and khambhara water dam by pipe line daily will now supply every other day. People are not happy about this decision and says that there is enough water in the two dam to supply Porbandar for next two years and city council collects around 325 rupees per house water bill every year but not supplying enough water.

Kutiyana BJP leader files police case against Miyari village sarpanch.

Yesterdays election violence that took place at Miyari village near Porbandar where around hundred people who burnt 4 vehicles of BJP party leader of Kutiyana MR. Karshanbhai Odedra and his brother Bhimabhai Odedra. Karshanbhai have filed a police case against Miyari village sarpanch Bhimbhai and one hundred other villagers who were thought be tampering with voting said Karshanbhai Odedra, BJP leader added that I went there to stop this action and suddenly crowd attacked on him and his brother but escaped without injuries but his 4 vehicles were burnt worth 18 lakh ropees, while Kutiyana police sub inspector Jadeja has filed a police case by him self against MR. Karshanbhai Odedra , Bhimabhai Odedra and 15 other party workers saying they were stopping the election. Police had to do four round of firing in the air and tear gas to disburse the crowd and no one was injured.

Peacefully election in Porbandar District.

Porbandar had peaceful day at election on its two seats Porbandar and Kutiyana. Reports suggest that estimated 56% of the voters were turned up in the district, on Porbandar seat 60% of the voters turned up out of 1.62 lakhs and in Kutiyana seat there was around 62% votes were recorded out of 1.44 lakhs voters. In village areas people turned out more this time with excite to see the electronic voting machine, people were given choices to bring 1 out of any 24 identity cards to caste vote. There was one miner incident recorded at Mahiyari village where small violence broke out between BJP party workers and villagers, some vehicles were burnt and shots were fired but District police got there in time and things were settled quickly. People will have to wait till Monday when results will be announce to see if MR. Babubhai Bokhiriya in Porbandar and MR. Karshanbhai Odedra in Kutiyana holds their seats for Bhartiy Janta Party.

Who will get the Kutiyana seat ?

"Gaurav Yatra" begins from Porbandar.

The fifth phase of BJP's ‘gaurav yatra’, piloted by Chief Minister Narendra Modi, resumed today from Mahatma Gandhi's birth place Porbandar. Modi commenced the journey, aimed to highlight Gujarat's Pride, on his motorised chariot in the presence of senior party leader Sunil Shastri and state BJP president Rajindersinh Rana from Kirti Mandir . The yatra has reached Madhavpur when this report is filed. Meanwhile, police said adequate security arrangements have been made in view of the growing threat perceptions on Modi's life. The two-day march covering Saurashtra region would culminate at Sirohi tomorrow. The first phase of the yatra had begun amidst controversies on September eight and has since dominated the socio-political life of the state, especially after Modi's vitriolic on population control and small family norms.
